Setting Geo Targets for your website

In my recent working with Google, I found out that Google has come up with a feature whereby you can set geographic targets in the Google Webmaster Tools. Basically, you can map sub folders on your website to specific locations. It would work like this:

www.mywebsite.com (the main website)
germany.mywebsite.com
mexico.mywebsite.com

You can use a German version for Germany and Spanish version for Mexico sub domains. But this would only work with .com, .net, .org, biz etc. It will not work with country specific domains like .co.in as the ccTLD is associated to that country by default. Yahoo, MSN, Ask and major other search engines are yet to catch up with this feature.
